KG Legal participated in OpenLivingLab Days event hosted in Krakow, Poland from 29 August to 1 September 2017. The four-day event was hosted by ENoLL member Krakow Technology Park – one of the key actors in co-creating and implementing the Regional Innovation Strategy and promoting smart specialization and user-driven innovation approaches in the region. The event included interactive sessions, workshops, discussion panels with excursions and off-site visits with the aim of giving the participants a wider insight about models, theories and technologies related to Living Labs.
The strategic partners of the OpenLivingLab Days 2017 conference are the Cracow City Hall and the Marshal’s Office of the Małopolska Region.

KG Legal will take part in XIII International Symposium “Intellectual property in an innovative economy. Start-ups and what’s next?”, organised by the Polish Patent Office, which will be held in the International Culture Centre in Cracow, on 7-8th September 2017. The event has been announced to be under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland and has been organised with the cooperation with the World International Property Organisation, the Industrial Development Agency, the Marshall’s Office of the Małopolskie Voivodeship, the Embassy of the State of Israel, United Stated Embassy and the number of Universities, e.g. Jagiellonian University or AGH University of Science and Technology.

There are two types of supported projects:
- obtaining the industrial property right (patent, protection right of utility model, protection right of industrial design),
- implementation of protection of industrial property right (when certain conditions are met).

On 19th May 2017 KG Legal participated in the BioLawEurope annual general meeting in Paris and was represented by its associate Kamil Trzaskoś, whose specialisations focus on IT and Patent law. During the meeting numbers of specialists from all around the world have been debating about development directions, admission of new members and possibilities of further cooperation.

KG Legal participated in a traininig about intellectual property in life science. Issues related to patents and trademarks, especially in pharmaceutical sector have been discussed during the training. The speakers explained the supplementary protection certificate (SPC) and its role in the pharmaceutical sector. Moreover, the issues of practical nature, such as filing the patent application and patent researches, were taken up.
In the following part of the training various matters of trademarks were disscused, including but not limited to marking of packages of medicinal products, proceedings for the protection of the trademark, advertisements of medicinal products and diet supplements.

KG Legal will participate in the BioLawEurope Annual General Meeting, which this year will be held in Paris. BioLawEurope is the association of law firms from EU and EFTA member states specialising in LifeSciences sector.
On 19-20 May 2017 the key representatives of law firms associated in the international legal life science organisation BioLawEurope F.m.b.A. will attend the meeting held in Paris. It will provide the opportunity to network and exchange experience as well as analyse case studies from the respective jurisdictions.

On the 23rd February KG Legal participated in the event organised by Klaster LifeScience. The main topic of the event were new tax regulations related to B+R commercialisation. These changes are significant for inventors and companies from innovative sectors. Specialists presented new tax credit and new principles of taxation on commercialised intellectual property by a contribution in kind based on new provisions.
